Islay at Holmbyre Smithy is a glamping pod set in a peaceful rural location near Dalry in North Ayrshire. Each pod comes with its own private outdoor hot tub that seats up to six people perfect for stargazing over the Ayrshire countryside at night. Two pods sit on site and can be booked together for up to eight guests.

The setting is quiet and rural but well connected. The beach is just five miles away. Ardrossan is a short drive and from there you can catch a ferry to the Isle of Arran for a full day out. The Ayrshire Coastal Path described as one of the finest panoramic coastlines in the British Isles runs nearby.

The Islay pod sleeps up to four guests. Inside you'll find a 4ft 6in double bedroom plus a sofa bed in the open-plan living area. There's a shower room with heated towel rail and a compact kitchen with electric hob, microwave and fridge. A Smart TV and electric heating are included.

Kelburn Castle (7 miles) and Culzean Castle (National Trust for Scotland, 28 miles) are both worth a visit. Royal Troon golf course is around 20 miles south. Ardrossan Castle ruins are just a short drive away.
